About

Steve Johnson is a Colorado singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist
and performer. Offering a diverse and engaging mix of classic rock, blues
and vocal jazz tunes, Steve’s expressive piano and guitar accompaniment provides a rich musical foundation for his strong, dynamic vocals.

As a 3-year-old, Steve’s parents were surprised to hear him picking out
nursery rhymes on a toy piano. He began taking piano lessons at age 4
and picked up guitar at age 8. During his school years he learned to play
trumpet, trombone, baritone, French horn, tuba, flute and saxophone
in school bands, as well as electric piano, electric guitar, bass guitar and drums in his extracurricular bands.

Steve studied at Berklee College of Music and earned a 2-year certificate
in Music Composition. Professional credits and notable accomplishments
include recording for Paul and Linda McCartney, Andy Qunta (Icehouse)
and others, and a national tour as sideman with the Swiss metal band
Krokus. He performed with Krokus at the 1986 Texxas Jam at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas for an audience of 72,000 (Van Halen headlining).

Steve performs regularly as a solo act in northern Colorado and Wyoming. He can also be seen with Elmer Funk (a 10-pc funk horn band), The Custom Shop Band, Tina Marx & The Millionaires, Kahuna Beach Party (Beach Boys tribute band) and a variety of other groups.
